In January of This Year, Traffic Accidents Increased by 7.6%: Statistical Committee

In January 2019, a total of 299 road traffic accidents were registered in Armenia, representing a 7.6% increase compared to January of the previous year. However, this figure has decreased by around one third compared to December 2018.

According to the data from the Statistical Committee of Armenia, although the number of traffic accidents increased in January, the number of fatal accidents saw a sharp decline. In January 2019, 21 people lost their lives in traffic accidents, which is a 43.2% decrease from the figures reported in January 2018.

In contrast, the number of injuries from traffic accidents rose by 17%, totaling 468 individuals.

The number of fatalities has also decreased by 38.2% compared to December 2018, while the number of injuries decreased by 15.8%.
