Citizens Who Killed the White-Tailed Eagle Present Themselves to Police
Officers from the Kapan Division of the Police have investigated a publication on the Econews website regarding the illegal hunting of a white-tailed eagle and have taken all necessary measures to clarify the incident and identify the individual depicted in the photograph.
As a result of explanatory work, the citizen shown in the image and another person have presented themselves to the police and provided explanations.
The circumstances of the case are being clarified.

As previously reported, Econews had released an article titled “Alarm: Rare White-Tailed Eagles Have Been Hunted Again” and published a photograph showing a man holding a dead white-tailed eagle. The individual in the photo with the eagle is Smbat Hayrumyan, a resident of Kapan City in the Syunik Province, who uploaded the image to the open internet space on February 4, 2019.
