Two Employees of the RA State Control Service Arrested: Clarification
The State Control Service of the Republic of Armenia has commented on circulating news regarding the arrest of four of its employees.
The clarification from the State Control Service is presented below:
“Today, information disseminated in the media about the arrests of four employees of the RA State Control Service, including two department heads, was presented in a distorted manner.
Firstly, David Adyan, the acting head of the Social Sector Control Department of the State Control Service, today conducted an examination with his team at the “Yerevan M. Heratsi Medical University” foundation. Secondly, two employees of the State Control Service have been arrested in connection with a criminal case. We also inform you that the State Control Service is currently conducting an examination regarding the procurement process for hemodialysis supplies at St. Gregory the Illuminator Medical Center. Following the completion of the examination, appropriate actions will be taken as prescribed by law.”
After the release of the clarification, readers left numerous comments expressing that it was unclear. The press secretary of the State Control Service, Zarouhi Mejlumyan, clarified once again, this time on her Facebook page. “Two employees of the State Control Service have been arrested, and we do not provide identifying information in accordance with their constitutional right to the presumption of innocence,” she wrote.
Earlier, Analitik.am reported that the day before, the RA National Security Service had arrested four employees of the RA State Control Service, including the Adyan brothers, who are the heads of two departments of the RA State Control Service. David Adyan had previously denied the rumors of his arrest without commenting on the arrest of his cousin, Samvel Adyan.
