A French citizen has died under a snow mass near a hotel in the 'Aghveran' mountain resort area of Kotayk Province. This was reported by the Ministry of Emergency Situations.
Due to the lack of access routes for vehicles, rescuers proceeded on foot from the 'Arthur's Aghveran Resort' hotel to the likely incident site.
At 15:40, the medical crew on the Ministry of Defense helicopter confirmed the death of the citizen of the French Republic.
The Armenian Ministry of Emergency Situations informed Armenpress that the condition of the other four mountaineers is normal, and they do not require medical assistance.

Under unspecified circumstances, one of the climbers remained trapped under the snow mass. His friends rushed to pull him out, but he lost consciousness, necessitating rescuers' help.
A firefighting and rescue unit from the Ministry of Emergency Situations along with a rescue team from the special operations rescue work center were dispatched to the scene.
At around 13:30, a Ministry of Defense helicopter was sent to provide assistance.
