Criminal case materials transferred to Khachaturov in Armenian, untranslated

"The request to provide the case materials translated into Russian to the accused, former Secretary General of the CSTO Yuri Khachaturov, has been rejected," stated the press service of the Special Investigative Service in a conversation with Aysor.am.

The outlet notes that the Special Investigative Service denied the defense lawyers' request for the accused in the criminal case regarding March 1 to familiarize themselves with the 76-volume criminal case within 76 working days. Furthermore, attorney Mihran Poghosyan, representing Yuri Khachaturov, argued that his client was born and raised in Georgia, received his higher education in the territory of the USSR, and does not speak Armenian, thus he cannot familiarize himself with the materials of the criminal case.
