Manvel Grigoryan's Charges Expanded, His Son Also Listed as Wanted
The preliminary investigation into the criminal case of Manvel Grigoryan and Nazik Amiryan has been completed. This is reported by the press service of the Special Investigation Service.
Manvel Grigoryan is accused of illegal possession of weapons and ammunition, misappropriating property worth 101,232,917 AMD, evading payment of taxes amounting to 1,228,176,342 AMD, misusing state funds amounting to 1,225,003,300 AMD, and organizing the theft of property worth 37,101,100 AMD through extortion.
As a result of numerous investigative and other procedural actions during the investigation of the criminal case involving former MP and former president of the NGO "Civil Defense Volunteer Union" Manvel Grigoryan and his wife, Nazik Amiryan, in addition to previously uncovered crimes, additional cases have been identified, including the illegal evasion of significant tax payments by Grigoryan. His charges have been expanded, now including accusations under several articles of the Armenian Criminal Code.
According to the indictment, Grigoryan, in preliminary agreement with his wife, son, and other individuals, illegally acquired, transferred, and stored firearms, ammunition, and explosives at three residences in the Armavir region, specifically in Ejmiatsin and the villages of Arshaluys and in a private residence located in a military area of Artsakh.
The listed firearms and ammunition were discovered and seized during searches conducted on June 16 and 19, 2018. Additionally, as president of the "Civil Defense Volunteer Union," Grigoryan is accused of embezzling substantial assets amounting to 101,232,917 AMD, through misuse of public property assigned to the organization.
Grigoryan's son Arman Grigoryan has been declared wanted as part of the investigation. The investigative actions exhaustively reveal the unlawful activities carried out under the pretext of charity and volunteer work during a critical time for the Republic of Armenia.
