Indecent Act Against a Child: 31-Year-Old Man Arrested

The Investigative Committee of Armenia has established the circumstances surrounding the indecent acts committed against a 10-year-old girl, leading to the identification and subsequent arrest of the suspect.

On September 14, 2018, the Shengavit division of the police received a report from a citizen stating that at approximately 1:00 PM that day, the alleged perpetrator followed his 10-year-old daughter into a building and attempted to commit indecent acts. However, the underage girl managed to escape back home.

In response to the incident, a criminal case was initiated on September 19, 2018, at the Shengavit division of the police, according to the second point of the third part of Article 142 of the Criminal Code of Armenia, with the investigation being conducted by the Shengavit investigative department.

Through extensive investigative actions and operational-intelligence measures, the identity of the alleged perpetrator, a resident of Yerevan born in 1988, was established.

The 31-year-old man has been arrested.

The preliminary investigation is ongoing, with necessary investigative and procedural actions being undertaken to clarify all the circumstances of the case.
