Two Iranian Citizens Arrested in Yerevan
As a result of actions taken within a criminal case being investigated by the Yerevan investigative department of the RA Investigative Committee concerning the illegal acquisition, possession, and distribution of drugs, two citizens of the Islamic Republic of Iran have been arrested.
This was reported by the Public Relations Department of the Investigative Committee.
Thus, as a result of joint actions undertaken by the RA Investigative Committee and the Organized Crime Control Department of the Police, a resident born in 1980, previously convicted several times for drug trafficking, was apprehended on February 9, 2019, at 21:00 from the intersection of Rostovyan and Artsakh streets in Yerevan on suspicion of illegal drug acquisition, possession, and distribution.
On suspicion of drug trafficking, at the same time and place, two citizens of the I.R. Iran, born in 1980 and 1971, were also apprehended.
Additionally, another citizen of Iran, born in 1959, and the taxi driver who transported him to the area were detained; the driver presented an elegant leather bag, claiming it belonged to the passenger, an Iranian citizen.
