Narek Karapetyan Cannot Refuse Salary, Such Mechanism Does Not Exist: Rubinyan

Narek Karapetyan cannot refuse his salary, as there is no legal mechanism for such action. This was stated by the Deputy Speaker of the National Assembly, Ruben Rubinyan, during a conversation with journalists.

Commenting on Karapetyan's announcement regarding his intention to refuse salary and bonuses, Rubinyan noted that the current legislation does not provide for such an opportunity.

“Mr. Karapetyan cannot refuse his salary. He can receive the money and transfer it to another person, but that is his personal decision,” he said.

Rubinyan also responded to publications regarding his father-in-law's appointment to the National Assembly, asserting that he has never employed him. “When my father-in-law worked in the National Assembly, he was not my father-in-law, and when he became my father-in-law, he was no longer working in the National Assembly,” he noted.

The Deputy Speaker added that, unlike some other deputies, he and the members of his faction do not have other sources of income.
