Atomic Race Around Armenia: Great Powers Propose New Nuclear Power Plant
Armenia has received proposals for the construction of a nuclear power plant from Russia, Korea, and France, and the choice will be made based on economic rather than political considerations. Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan made this announcement.
“The small modular nuclear power plant suits us best. Such a facility also exists in Russia,” he stated. According to him, Armenia does not require a large nuclear power plant due to the unlimited potential of solar energy.
Pashinyan also ruled out the possibility of political influence in the decision to build a new nuclear power plant. “This is an economic issue, and it will be necessary to ensure the program's sustainability and profitability,” emphasized Nikol Pashinyan.
