Rockfall on Vanadzor-Alaverdi Highway: Road Closed on One Side
The Lori regional operational management center received a report of a rockfall near the entrance of the 3rd tunnel on the Vanadzor-Alaverdi interstate highway. This was announced by the Ministry of Internal Affairs Rescue Service.
A firefighting and rescue team from the regional rescue department was dispatched to the scene. It was determined that approximately 10 cubic meters of rock had fallen over an area of about 30 square meters, resulting in the road being closed on one side.
The rescuers cordoned off the area and carried out road clearance operations, and traffic has been restored in both directions.
