If Yerevan Turns into a Big Forest, This Problem Won't Disappear: Avinyan on Air Quality
The Yerevan city hall is currently focused on the collection of analytical data regarding air quality issues and the regulation of actions based on that data. This was stated by mayor Tigran Avinyan during a city hall meeting.
“We have poor air quality indicators at some level, at some height, and when that air descends on the city through an inversion layer, we encounter similar problems, not just in the city,” he noted.
Avinyan added that based on forecasts, they have the opportunity to carry out actions. “Why is this awareness important? In conversations with people, I understand that there are intuitive ideas, and we genuinely feel that, for example, if the city of Yerevan turns into a big forest, this problem will disappear. This does not correspond to reality,” said the mayor of Yerevan.
