Russian Transport Ministry Confirms Loss of Contact with 'Marinera' Vessel
The Russian Federation's Transport Ministry has officially confirmed that U.S. naval forces have escalated tensions in neutral waters by boarding the 'Marinera' vessel, following which contact with the ship was lost. According to the ministry's data, the ship was detained around 15:00 Moscow time in open sea, beyond the territorial waters of any state.
It is noted that the ship had received temporary authorization to sail under the Russian flag until December 24, 2025. The Russian Transport Ministry emphasized that no state has the right to use force against properly registered vessels under the jurisdiction of another state.
It is worth mentioning that the U.S. Coast Guard attempted to seize the Russian-flagged Marinera tanker in the North Atlantic during a storm.
