UN Ambassador to US Calls for Thanks to Trump for Actions in Venezuela
The United Nations should thank President Donald Trump for the actions taken in Venezuela rather than criticize him. This was stated by the U.S. Ambassador to the UN, Mike Wallace, highlighting that over 50 countries in the UN have labeled Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro's regime as 'illegitimate,' and he no longer holds power as a result of U.S. actions.
‘We believe that a better future for the people of Venezuela, the region, and the world stabilizes the region and makes our neighborhood much better and safer. This is why millions of Venezuelans fleeing this brutal regime are celebrating and applauding around the world,’ the U.S. Ambassador stated during a UN Security Council meeting.
Mike Wallace also noted that the UN and numerous international human rights organizations have released reports documenting serious human rights violations under Maduro's regime, including extrajudicial killings, political prisoners, torture, and arbitrary and unlawful detentions.
