Earthquake of Magnitude 5.6 Recorded Near Japan's Coast

An earthquake measuring 5.6 on the Richter scale has been recorded off the coast of Hokkaido, Japan. This information was reported by the European-Mediterranean Seismological Centre.

The epicenter of the subterranean tremors was located 111 kilometers northeast of the city of Hachinohe, which has a population of approximately 239,000 residents. The quake struck at a depth of 62 kilometers.

There have been no reports of casualties or injuries, nor is there any indication of a tsunami hazard.
