Nikol Pashinyan Decides to Dismiss Shirak Region Governor
It became known yesterday that Nikol Pashinyan has decided to dismiss the governor of Shirak, David Arushanyan. It can be assumed that this decision came as a surprise to Arushanyan himself, as he was preparing to hold a press conference in the morning to summarize his year of work (he was appointed on December 19, 2024). However, the official website of the governor's office simply posted a summary video instead.
This is reported by the newspaper “Past.” According to the publication, Arushanyan's dismissal is mainly related to two factors: one concerns the municipal elections in Gyumri, where the ruling Civil Contract party lost to the opposition. The other is connected to a liturgy at the “Seven Wounds” church.
