Snowfall: Current Situation on Armenia's Highways
The Rescue Service reports that roads in Armenia are mostly passable. Due to ongoing reconstruction works on the Koreh Dzor road and considering the risk of rockfalls, the road has been temporarily closed to traffic since August 19.
There are patches of black ice on the Vardenyats Pass. Snow is falling in the towns of Kajaran, Goris, and on the Tatev-Shinuhayr highway. Drivers are urged to travel exclusively with winter tires.
According to information received from the Georgian Ministry of Internal Affairs and the Russian Ministry of Emergency Situations' North Ossetia crisis management center, the Stepanstminda-Lars highway is open for all types of vehicles.
