IAEA Receives Notification from Russia About Drone Attack on Novovoronezh Nuclear Power Plant
The International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) has announced that it received information from Russian sources regarding attacks on the Novovoronezh nuclear power plant by Ukrainian drones. According to the statement from the international organization, the nuclear safety of the facility was not compromised during the strikes that occurred last night.
IAEA Director General Rafael Grossi commented on the incident, stating that "nuclear plants should never be subject to attack." It was reported that a Ukrainian drone targeted the cooling tower of the Novovoronezh Nuclear Power Plant (NPP).
According to the press service of "Rosenergoatom," the drone was suppressed by technical means and detonated after colliding with the cooling tower of the active Unit 6.
