Russia Thwarts Attempted Terrorism, Spies Arrested

The Federal Security Service of Russia has announced the uncovering of an espionage network linked to Ukraine's special services that was preparing a terrorist act against the head of one of the defense enterprises in Saint Petersburg. This was reported by TASS.

Specifically, the alleged criminals, Russian citizens born in 1993, 1994, and 2006, intended to detonate a bomb hidden in the head of the enterprise's vehicle. The bomb was reportedly concealed in one of the city's cemeteries.

The arrested individuals have provided confessional statements, revealing that they maintained contact with Ukrainian special services via Telegram. Criminal charges have been initiated for the preparation of a terrorist attack and the illegal trafficking of explosive materials or devices. The suspects face sentences of up to life imprisonment.
