Hamas Issues Statement: Six Members Killed
Following the strikes in Doha, the Palestinian group Hamas has issued its first official statement, claiming that Israel's attack aimed to disrupt negotiations regarding a ceasefire and prisoner exchanges, according to Al Jazeera.
The group also confirmed that its senior leaders survived the assassination attempt, while six others were killed, including the son of Hamas's Gaza leader Khalil al-Hayya and one of his aides, as well as a military officer.
"This once again demonstrates the criminal nature of the occupation and its desire to undermine any possibility of reaching an agreement," Hamas stated.
Earlier, explosions were reported in Qatar's capital, Doha. According to the Qatari Foreign Ministry, Israeli strikes targeted residential buildings. The strikes were focused on members of Hamas's political bureau.
