A State Platform for Verifying Real Estate Sale Announcements to be Established in Armenia

A state platform will be created in Armenia to verify all announcements regarding the sale of real estate. This draft amendment to the Law on Real Estate Agents was approved today during a session of the National Assembly's Economic Affairs Committee and will be presented for discussion in plenary sessions.

During the committee session, Suren Tovmasyan, the head of the State Committee of the Real Estate Cadastre, clarified that the electronic platform will operate in connection with the committee. According to him, starting from 2027, all sale announcements placed on specialized websites will need to be automatically verified on this platform so that all necessary documents for buying and selling an apartment are available.

“If an owner wants to place an announcement on any website, it will be automatically directed to the cadastre platform. If they begin their process from the official platform attached to the committee, after document verification, it will suggest the user select the appropriate specialized websites. By the way, websites not associated with this platform will not be able to accept announcements regarding real estate,” he noted.

Additionally, real estate agents must have higher education and must pass a test in order to obtain the necessary certification to practice.
