Ukraine Allows Foreigners to Serve as Officers in National Guard
The Ukrainian government has prepared a draft decision allowing foreigners and stateless individuals to serve as officers in the National Guard. This was reported by Verkhovna Rada deputy Oleksiy Honcharenko, according to TASS.
"The government has approved a draft decision that enables foreigners and stateless persons to serve in the National Guard not only as privates and sergeants but also as officers," he wrote on his Telegram channel, attaching a copy of the document.
Candidates will be required to undergo a special test, which includes a polygraph examination.
The draft must be signed by Volodymyr Zelensky.
The article notes that Ukraine has repeatedly acknowledged the shortage of officers in the military. According to Yegor Chernev, deputy head of the parliamentary committee on national security, defense, and intelligence, this issue is planned to be addressed by utilizing Western military reserves.
