Trump Outlines Conditions for Rapid Peace Agreement on Ukraine
U.S. President Donald Trump has informed Western leaders that recognizing Donbas as Russian territory would help swiftly conclude a peace agreement, according to The New York Times. Previously, it was reported that the American leader conveyed this to his Ukrainian counterpart, Volodymyr Zelensky.
European officials welcomed Trump's efforts during their phone conversation and reiterated calls for a trilateral meeting between the leaders of the U.S., Ukraine, and Russia. At the same time, some European officials expressed concern that the U.S. president might now put pressure on Zelensky to make territorial concessions for peace.
