We Support Armenia's Position: Mehdi Sobhani

“Syunik is a red line. We support Armenia's position,” said Mehdi Sobhani, Iran’s ambassador to Armenia, commenting on discussions surrounding the potential lease of a transportation route in Syunik to an American company, while emphasizing Tehran's concerns over potential geopolitical risks.

As previously reported, the Armenian side has rejected such a proposal and, according to the ambassador, assured that any decision would not violate territorial integrity. Iran fully supports this position.

“Any step that could alter international borders, disrupt land communications between Iran and Armenia, or destabilize the region raises serious concern for Tehran,” the ambassador noted.
