Illegal Extraction Cases Registered in Syunik
Employees of the Environmental and Mining Inspectorate have recorded 6 cases of illegal mineral extraction during preventive measures for the protection of natural resources in the Syunik region.
As a result of surveying works conducted in the administrative areas of Gorayk, Karahunj, Vorotnavan, Harjis, Angehakot, and Shinhuhair, it was established that approximately 1,470,000 cubic meters of volcanic-like rock mass had been illegally displaced from a total area of 16.95 hectares.
A damage assessment was conducted regarding the impact of economic activity on land resources, amounting to 33,864,713 AMD.
Reports on the apparent crime have been submitted to the Investigative Committee of the Republic of Armenia.
