Peskov on the National Assembly's Approval of EU Membership Bill

The decision of the Armenian parliament regarding EU membership is a matter of the country's sovereign rights. This was stated by Dmitry Peskov, the press secretary of the President of Russia, during a briefing.

Peskov commented on the approval of the bill concerning the initiation of EU membership by the Armenian parliament. "This is Armenia's sovereign right. Of course, both Armenians themselves and everyone else should understand how much this is a mutual desire and how they, the Europeans, view it," he said.

Peskov noted that there are certain political figures in Armenia who believe that focusing on the EU will yield additional dividends for the country and the interests of its people.
