France's Foreign Ministry on Netanyahu's Potential Arrest
Some leaders of states may attain immunity if the International Criminal Court issues arrest warrants against them. This stance was expressed by France's Foreign Ministry in relation to the situation surrounding Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and several members of his government, effectively clarifying how the rules established by the West operate.
“France respects its international obligations, and it is not possible to demand actions from a state that are incompatible with commitments undertaken under international law” against certain leaders who are not members of the ICC and have immunity,” the statement read.
The ministry also emphasized that Paris “will continue to work closely” with Netanyahu and other Israeli representatives to achieve peace and security in the Middle East.
