There Can Be No Simple Solution to This Issue: Ryabkov
The Russian side is ready to hear the proposals of the newly elected U.S. President Donald Trump regarding the resolution of the situation in Ukraine; however, there can be no simple solution to this problem, stated Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Sergey Ryabkov in an interview with Interfax, responding to questions about Moscow's willingness to hear Trump's proposals on Ukraine.
"We are extremely careful, responsible, and attentive to any ideas that are proposed by countries in this area," Ryabkov said. He noted that "declarations, statements, promises, some signals are certainly important."
"From the American side, they come from different lines and at all levels, and all of this is recorded. But actions are needed, and our assessments will be based on the specific actions of the future administration. The 47th President of the United States is already known, and we are familiar with his previous steps in power. I believe that his messages regarding a speedy resolution of the situation in Ukraine are nothing more than rhetoric, serving only as a means to attract additional attention during the election campaign," Ryabkov declared.
