Photos: Major Accident on Yerevan-Meghri Highway, Several Injured
A serious car accident occurred on the Yerevan-Meghri highway, resulting in injuries to six individuals. This information has been reported by the Ministry of Emergency Situations' rescue service.
The Crisis Management Center of the Vayots Dzor Regional Rescue Administration received the call about the incident at 15:55.
One firefighting and rescue team from the regional rescue service was dispatched to the scene. It was determined that the vehicles involved were a Toyota (driver: K. Z., born in 1970) and a Nissan (driver: H. A., born in 1966), with the Nissan ending up in the Arpa River.
Before the arrival of the rescuers, the driver of the Toyota and passengers E. M. (born in 2017), K. G. (born in 2004), G. M. (born in 1975), A. D. (born in 1995), and A. A. (born in 2000) were extricated from the vehicle by local residents and taken to a medical center.
The rescuers cut off the electricity supply to the Toyota and closed the gas cylinder valve. The Nissan was recovered from the river with the help of special equipment.
