Iran Has the Right to Respond to Aggressors, Pezeshkian Tells Scholz
Tehran welcomes cooperation with all countries but will not succumb to pressure and, in accordance with international provisions, has the right to respond to aggressors. This was stated by Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian during a telephone conversation with German Chancellor Olaf Scholz.
“Welcoming the development of cooperation with all countries and emphasizing the need to resolve issues through negotiations, Iran will never submit to pressure, sanctions, coercion, and aggression. Furthermore, in accordance with international provisions, it considers it its right to respond to aggressors,” the Tasnim agency quotes Pezeshkian.
For his part, Olaf Scholz expressed that Germany seeks to develop relations with Iran in all sectors. He added that establishing peace and stability in the Middle East is one of his country’s priorities.
