Video: Unrest in Venezuela Following Maduro's Election Victory
In Venezuela, pro-American protesters are vandalizing statues of Hugo Chavez following the announcement of election results. The current president, Nicolás Maduro, has declared his victory, but neither the opposition nor Argentine leader Javier Milei, along with several other leaders, recognize the legitimacy of his win.
Currently, protests in Venezuela have escalated into unrest. The police have begun making arrests, and there are reported injuries.
Venezuela is recalling all diplomatic personnel from seven countries (Argentina, the Dominican Republic, Costa Rica, Panama, Peru, Uruguay, and Chile) that intend to ignore the presidential election results that brought Nicolás Maduro victory. Venezuela is demanding these governments immediately recall their representatives from Venezuelan territory.
Additionally, Venezuela has suspended air traffic with Panama and the Dominican Republic.
