Daniel Ioannisyan Addresses Constitutional Amendments
Daniel Ioannisyan, the head of the Civic Consciousness NGO, has addressed the issue of constitutional amendments in a post on Facebook regarding the Constitutional Reform Council. He stated:
- The adoption of a new Constitution will not occur before 2027.
- The discussion of the Constitution's preamble and/or references to the Declaration of Independence has not been addressed in the council and will not be discussed in the near future.
- The model for the future Constitution was discussed in today’s session (it is intended to set principles rather than micromanage).
- A recording of today’s session will be published shortly by the Ministry of Justice.
- The issue of abandoning the norm that guarantees a stable majority will be discussed in the upcoming meeting.
