The U.S. Will Do Everything to Help Armenia Seize This Historic Moment: Samantha Power

Armenia is close to a peace treaty that could put an end to decades-long conflict, stated Samantha Power, Administrator of the U.S. Agency for International Development, during a meeting with reporters in Yerevan.

"Representatives of the governments of Armenia and Azerbaijan continue negotiations aimed at reconciliation. The U.S. will do everything in its power to help Armenia seize this historic moment," she noted.

According to the U.S. official, Armenia has a window of opportunity to build prosperity, strengthen its democracy, and achieve the peace that its people have long dreamed of.

"Since 2018, when the Armenian people rose up and demanded change, Armenia has made significant progress in deepening democratic reforms to make the government more responsive to citizens' needs and to create economic opportunities that were previously impossible due to corruption," said Samantha Power.
