119 People Hospitalized in Tokyo Due to Heatwave
In Tokyo, the capital of Japan, 119 people have been hospitalized due to heatstroke as reported by NHK. On Saturday, temperatures in Tokyo reached as high as 35.5 degrees Celsius. Furthermore, it has been reported that two individuals have died from the heat in two prefectures on Shikoku Island.
A further intensification of the heat is expected on Sunday, with temperatures in certain areas rising up to 39 degrees Celsius. Meteorologists are urging residents to avoid going outside unless absolutely necessary, not to attempt to endure the heat, and to turn on air conditioning and fans.
