New Constitution Adoption and Parliamentary Elections Should Not Be Combined: Pashinyan
The new constitution adoption and parliamentary elections should not be combined, stated Nikol Pashinyan during the "Armenian Third Forum of Democracy." He noted, "We have been continuously discussing the issue of the new constitution since 2018, but due to certain circumstances known to you, this question has been enriched with various new speculations. If we return to the logic of democracy, I remain convinced of my position. Ultimately, what is the Constitution? The Constitution is an agreement among citizens regarding interpersonal relations, as well as the relationship between individuals and the state, and among systems."
Pashinyan emphasized that many of our problems stem from citizens not considering that the rules have been established by them or that they voted for these changes.
