Arman Sahakyan Fully Reimburses State for Damages Amounting to Approximately 178 Million Drams
The preliminary investigation initiated by the Anti-Corruption Committee has concluded, with Sahakyan admitting his guilt. Arman Sahakyan, who held the position of Head of the State Property Management Department from 2011 to 2018 (son of Galust Sahakyan), has fully reimbursed the state for the 178 million AMD he caused in damages. This information is reported by the Anti-Corruption Committee.
The preliminary investigation established that Sahakyan, by abusing his official powers, illegally transferred state real estate valued at approximately 178 million AMD to an organization established in the name of individuals related to him.
“During the investigation, charges were pressed against Sahakyan under Article 308, Part 2 of the former Criminal Code of the Republic of Armenia (abuse of office, which negligently caused serious consequences). He fully admitted his guilt in the charges presented and has completely reimbursed the damage caused to the state,” the statement said.
The preliminary investigation has concluded, and the materials of the case were sent to court with an accusatory conclusion for substantive examination.
