Azerbaijan Transfers Remains of 2 Fallen Armenian Soldiers to Armenian Side: NSS
On June 21, 2024, the Azerbaijani side transferred the remains of two Armenian soldiers, allegedly killed during the two-day military operations in September 2022, to the Armenian side. This was reported by the National Security Service (NSS) of Armenia.
It is reminded that from September 13, 2022, units of the Azerbaijani Armed Forces were conducting intense fire towards the directions of Goris, Sotk, and Jermuk using artillery and large-caliber firearms. The adversary also employed drones.
During a cabinet meeting on September 16, Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan reported that the confirmed number of casualties on the Armenian side had reached 135.
According to the statement from the Armenian Security Council, the number of casualties and missing persons due to the large-scale aggression of Azerbaijani armed forces has reached 207, including three civilians who were killed, while the whereabouts of two civilians are considered unknown. Moreover, 293 soldiers and seven civilians were injured, and 20 soldiers were captured.
A ceasefire regime was established along the Armenian-Azerbaijani border starting from 20:00 on September 14.
