Constitutional Changes Cannot Be Part of Negotiations: Nikol Pashinyan
The current text of the peace treaty has matured sufficiently, and it can be finalized by making the last adjustments based on previously established bilateral agreements and signing it. This was stated by Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan during a briefing with journalists.
“As for the constitutional changes, I believe that linking that issue and trying to bring it to the negotiating table is a torpedoing of the peace process, and I do not exclude that there are certain tendencies to intervene in Armenia's internal affairs and generate processes based on misinformation,” said the Prime Minister.
“I have been talking about constitutional changes since after 2018, in 2019, and our agenda is exclusively related to democratic reforms, and we have stated that constitutional changes cannot be part of the negotiations,” he added.
