Investigative Committee Appeals to Court for Extension of Stepanakert Mayor's Detention by 2 Months
The Investigative Committee has appealed to the court seeking to extend the detention period of Stepanakert's Mayor David Sargsyan by two months. This was stated by lawyer Roman Yeritsyan.
"The Investigative Committee has appealed to the court for the extension of the detention period of Stepanakert Mayor David Sargsyan by two months. The hearing on this petition is being conducted by Judge Masis Melkonyan, known in the legal community for his nickname 'loyal to the authorities' and the slogan 'any petition from a political affairs investigator is justified.' He is a former member of the 'Republic' party council and officially holds the lowest rating among judges." The hearing is scheduled for June 13 at 19:00 at the Avan residence of the First Instance General Jurisdiction Criminal Court located at 20 Gyulikevkhyan Street, Yerevan," he wrote.
It is important to note that Stepanakert Mayor David Sargsyan was detained for 20 days.
