Snow, Blizzards, and Fog: What is the Situation on the Roads

The Rescue Service reports that there are closed roads within the territory of Armenia. The roads from the "Amberd" high mountain meteorological station in the Aragatsotn region to the Amberd Fortress and the Karchi Lake are closed.

The Vardenyats Pass is closed (due to blizzard) for all types of vehicles. Snowfall is observed in the Dilijan twists, as well as in the regions of Ashotsk, Amasia, Aparan, Talin, and in the cities of Sevan, Tsaghkadzor, Charentsavan, Hrazdan, and Jermuk.

There is fog in the highland areas of Syunik. According to information received from the National Disaster Management Department of Georgia and the Crisis Management Center of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of the Russian Federation in North Ossetia, the Stepantsminda-Lars road is closed for heavy trucks. Drivers are advised to travel exclusively with winter tires.
