Radical Islamists have called for attacks on Christian events during the festive season across Europe, prompting security agencies to enhance their oversight. Since early morning, security forces have made arrests in Vienna and Germany.
The attacks may be targeted at attendees of Christmas services in Cologne, Vienna, and Madrid. Authorities have now closed several central churches, including the Cologne Cathedral.
