Man Armed with Bat Attempts to Break into Abovyan Mayor's Residence

In the night, an unidentified individual, reportedly under the influence of drugs, attempted to break into the residence of Abovyan community mayor and Prosperous Armenia Party leader Gagik Tsarukyan's former bodyguard, Edward Babayan. Babayan's mother, wife, and daughters were present in the house at the time.

This was reported by the news outlet 'Hraparak'. In an interview with the media, Abovyan mayor's lawyer Emin Khachatryan stated that an unknown individual entered the yard of Babayan's residence and attempted to break into the house while committing hooligan acts.

“Edward Babayan heard noises and came out of the residence, confronting the unknown individual at the door, preventing his hooligan actions and illegal entry into his home. By the way, this person managed to get through to the two walls of the residence,” Khachatryan reported.

It was noted that the lawyer still does not know what motivated the individual to attempt to invade the mayor's home.

According to Khachatryan, the inadequate behavior of the individual who tried to break into Babayan's residence, his hooligan actions, and the attempt to violate the sanctity of the dwelling raise suspicions that he was under the influence of drugs.

It was also reported that Babayan thwarted the individual's entry into his residence and protected his family.
