VIDEO: What Are the New Standards for Outdoor Advertising? Compliance Required by January 1
By January 1, all advertisements in Yerevan must comply with the new standards set by the City Council. This was announced by the Yerevan Municipality. A guideline has been developed for specific businesses to assist in the proper formulation of the applications.
“Our goal is to rid the city of suffocating advertisements and to make it more presentable,” said Deputy Mayor Suren Grigoryan.
Advertisements posted on buildings must not disrupt the architectural appearance of the structures. Moving text, fabric, and cardboard self-adhesive posters will also be prohibited. Advertising on buildings can only be horizontally arranged, with vertical letters and without a backing platform. On display windows, it should not cover more than 75% of the surface and must not include contact details. Advertisements on roofs are permitted only if the building has at least four stories.
