VIDEO: The Result of Israel's Ground Operation Will Be an Epic Proportions Humanitarian Disaster, Says Jordan's Foreign Ministry
The Jordanian Ministry of Foreign Affairs warns that the result of Israel's ground operation in the Gaza Strip will be a "humanitarian disaster of epic proportions lasting for many years."
"Israel has just begun a ground war in Gaza," the statement indicates.
Additionally, Israel Defense Forces spokesman Daniel Hagari commented on the expansion of military operations in Gaza: "We have increased the pace of attacks on the Gaza Strip. Our air force is targeting underground installations and terrorist infrastructure. As we continue our attacks on the Gaza Strip, our forces are expanding the scope of ground operations to achieve the objectives of this war."
Protests are taking place in Jordan in front of the Israeli embassy. Footage circulating online shows scenes near the Israeli embassy in Amman.
The Director of the Red Cross's Operational Department told RIA Novosti that the situation in the Gaza Strip can only be described as desperate. Meanwhile, the Palestine Red Crescent has reported that the Gaza Strip is completely cut off from the outside world.
