Armenia Considers Possible Azerbaijani Incursion Within Weeks
The Armenian Ambassador to the EU, Tigran Balayan, stated in an interview with Brussels Signal that Armenia considers it likely that Azerbaijan could "invade within weeks." The capitulation of Nagorno-Karabakh to Azerbaijan could be followed by an attack on Armenia itself, Balayan noted.
“We are currently under the immediate threat of an invasion of Armenia,” the ambassador said.
Balayan asserted that Azerbaijan's promises to respect international law are false. Azerbaijan will not stop unless it faces significant practical measures taken by unified Western nations.
“He proposed that the EU give Aliyev a deadline to withdraw his army from the Armenian border, and if he fails, to suspend Azerbaijan's visa-free entry agreement with the EU. He also mentioned that "individual sanctions could send a clear message," the media reported.
