The decision to demolish the buildings was made because they were deemed uninhabitable. Their restoration has been considered impossible.

It is worth noting that earlier this year, Turkey experienced two earthquakes that claimed the lives of over 50,000 people. The natural disaster caused the collapse of tens of thousands of buildings across ten provinces.
