VIDEO: Nearly 50 Years Later, Russia Launches Rocket Towards the Moon
In a significant event in modern Russian history, nearly 50 years after its last mission, the "Luna-25" spacecraft has launched from the Vostochny Cosmodrome towards the Moon, Earth's natural satellite.
The landing of the "Luna-25" spacecraft is expected on August 21. This mission is indeed a historic event as Russia makes its return to the Moon.
The spacecraft aims to develop soft landing technology and investigate the upper layers of surface regolith at our satellite's South Pole, as well as to study the lunar exosphere.
