Sergey Shoigu Visits North Korea

The Russian Defense Minister Sergey Shoigu has arrived in the Democratic People's Republic of Korea with a military delegation, as reported by the Russian Ministry of Defense.

According to the ministry, the aircraft landed at Sunan International Airport (near Pyongyang). The delegation is set to participate in ceremonial events dedicated to the 70th anniversary of the Koreans' victory in the Patriotic War of 1950-1953.

"This visit will contribute to the strengthening of military ties between Russia and North Korea and will be an important phase in the development of cooperation between the two countries," emphasized the Russian Ministry of Defense.

Earlier, the Russian military agency reported that Shoigu would visit North Korea from July 25 to 27 at the invitation of the North Korean side.
