Scholz Ready to Call Putin
The Chancellor of Germany, Olaf Scholz, has stated that he currently has no specific plans for a phone conversation with Russian President Vladimir Putin, according to Tagesschau.
He emphasized that this does not mean he is planning to abandon communications with the politician in light of the Ukrainian conflict. “Of course, one day I will speak with Putin again,” Scholz said.
He also added that in the confrontation, he prefers to support Ukraine. Scholz highlighted that Germany is already providing the largest assistance, including military support, after the United States. “As a person, as a citizen, as a German, as a European, I wish Ukraine success,” concluded the Chancellor of Germany.
