Putin Meets with Yevgeny Prigozhin: Liberation
French media outlets, citing Western intelligence data, report that Russian President Vladimir Putin met with Yevgeny Prigozhin immediately after the armed rebellion of the Wagner private military company. This was stated by one of France's largest newspapers, Liberation.
According to the publication, Prigozhin arrived in Moscow on July 1 for a conversation with the head of state. It is noted that commanders of the private military company were also present at the meetings with Putin.
Alongside the meeting with the head of state, Prigozhin held negotiations with Viktor Zolotov, the Director of the Russian National Guard, and Sergei Naryshkin, the head of the Foreign Intelligence Service, as reported by Libération, which did not disclose the details of these meetings.
Recall that on June 24, Wagner forces had blocked the administrative buildings of Rostov-on-Don and began moving towards Moscow, with President Vladimir Putin labeling the actions of the group's leader as a "strike from behind."
